According to the package those are carrots. I thought that they looked like grass at first, I pulled one out and the roots don't look like grass or weed roots. They look like they could indeed be the start of a carrot, we shall see.
Weird. All the carrots I have seen have lacy, fern-like foliage. What variety of carrot is it? See, you learn something new everyday! I have some atomic red carrots planted and the outside of the carrot is red and lightens to orange in the center. I can't wait to try some of them, they should be pretty interesting.
Okay so I just looked at the site I bought them from and they should be Scarlet. I've never planted carrots before and I thought they would look different too but that's what popped up. Time will tell.
