I have a meeting scheduled with my boss on Monday. I am going to bring up how unhappy I have been with my merit increases in the past three years. So wish me luck. I have also talked to my boss about my idea to move our department to a different building to boost morale and to give telecommunications the space they need to grow with the addition of our new hospital. Hopefully something will come out of all of this talk. I am still pushing to get 1-2 new positions for my department, but I will settle for just 1 at the moment. I will not give up. I am also going to fight to get the pay scale raised for the dispatcher positions so that my employees aren't stuck with no merit increases because they are at the top of their pay scale. I want my employees to be happy and know that I will fight as hard as I can. Wish me luck!

Whoa! Listen to you! You are not the same little girl of long ago. WOW! I'm proud to hear you talking about standing up for your employees and such. John can commiserate with you. It's miserable to be in middle management, but you just have to be willing to keep fighting and fighting. It really does pay off in loyalty from your employees when they know you are on their side. I'll be anxious to hear how it goes. Also, remind me to never get on your bad side. :)
